Title: I’m Not Dying With You Tonight
Authors: Kimberly Jones and Gilly Segal
Pages: 272
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Release Date: 6th August 2019
Blurb from Goodreads:
Lena and Campbell aren't friends.
Lena has her killer style, her awesome boyfriend, and a plan. She knows she's going to make it big. Campbell, on the other hand, is just trying to keep her head down and get through the year at her new school.
When both girls attend the Friday-night football game, what neither expects is for everything to descend into sudden mass chaos. Chaos born from violence and hate. Chaos that unexpectedly throws them together.
They aren't friends. They hardly understand the other's point of view. But none of that matters when the city is up in flames, and they only have each other to rely on if they're going to survive the night.
My Review:
*I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to Sourcebooks Fire*
Lena and Campbell
both go to the same school, but they aren't friends.
Lena is confident
and loves fashion and her boyfriend.
Campbell recently
started at the school and just wants to make it through the year
living with her dad while her mum works abroad.
They both attend a
school football game, and are thrown together when things go wrong.
Can Lena and
Campbell work together to escape the violence that is sparking across
the city?
I liked both Lena
and Campbell. They were very different people so it was interesting
to see them interact.
The plot was
enjoyable and kept me guessing - I really had no idea what was going
to happen next.
I thought that what
did happen could easily occur in real life, which was scary, and that
the themes were handled well.
Both writing styles
were easy to follow and I would be interested in reading more by the
authors.
Overall, this was an
enjoyable read that I would recommend.
