Top Ten Tuesday - My Ten Most Recent Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week the topic is
My Ten Most Recent Reads

1. The Ones We're Meant to Find by Joan He
3/5 stars

I enjoyed this and found it unique, but I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I hoped to.

2. Eight Will Fall by Sarah Harian
2.5/5 stars

This was more bloody than I was expecting but ended up being a mixed read for me.

3. The Beautiful Ones by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
 3/5 stars

This is probably my least favourite book that I've read by the author but I did enjoy it overall.

4. Spin the Dawn (The Blood of Stars, #1) by Elizabeth Lim
3/5 stars

I enjoyed this overall but not enough to want to read the sequel.

5. City of Ghosts (Cassidy Blake, #1) by Victoria Schwab
3/5 stars

This was my second time reading this and I didn't enjoy it quite as much this time around.

6. The Switch by Beth O'Leary
3.5/5 stars

This was a fun, heart-warming read.

7. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson
3.5/5 stars

Contemporaries are usually hit or miss for me, but I rather enjoyed this one. However, there was one aspect of it that I really didn't like.

 8. Other Words for Smoke by Sarah Maria Griffin
3/5 stars

This was an enjoyable, unique read that I didn't enjoy quite as much as I hoped to.

 9. The Starlight Watchmaker (The Watchmaker and the Duke, #1) by Lauren James
2.5/5 stars

I haven't enjoyed Lauren James' recent releases as much as her older books, so I wasn't that surprised that I found this to be a mixed read. However, this is aimed at younger readers who aren't very confident, so I'm not the target audience and can definitely see other people enjoying this more.

10. Made You Up by Francesca Zappia
3/5 stars

I definitely expected to enjoy this more and I wasn't a big fan of the romance.

What are some of your most recent reads?

  1. Great list! The Beautiful Ones is probably my least favourite Moreno-Garcia novel, too - although I'm glad to see it getting more attention now that it's been reprinted! - but I do think it has my favourite of Moreno-Garcia's antagonists.

    1. I'm glad it's getting more attention too but glad you have the same opinion as me.
Valerie was definitely an interesting character.

  2. That's good to know about The Beautiful Ones. The blurb didn't really jump out at me either.

    1. It was still an enjoyable read, but yeah, I didn't love it.
